Time Commitment: 6-9 Months | 6-8 hours/week (Seasonal/Temporary) Flexible schedule based on school requirements.
General Description:
As a Grant Writing Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting our fundraising efforts by assisting in the development and submission of grant applications. This role is uniquely designed for an efficient, highly organized individual with excellent research and writing skills. Following the completion of a 6-month internship term, the Seasonal Grant Writing Intern will be eligible for advancement to the role of Seasonal Grant Writing Lead Intern.
Duties:
- Research and identify potential grant opportunities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive understanding of Digital4Good x #ICANHELP’s programs and initiatives
- Conduct prospect research to identify new funding sources (foundations, corporations, government agencies)
- Assist in drafting grant proposals and letters of inquiry
- Compile relevant data and information to support grant proposals
- Maintain accurate records of all grant submissions, deadlines, and outcomes
- Assist in cultivating relationships with donors and funding agencies
- Additional Duties, if promoted to Seasonal Grant Writing Lead Intern: Oversee all Seasonal Grant Writing work and due dates; plan and organize quarterly agenda topics for Steering Committee Meeting.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in high school or college.
- Demonstrated interest or experience in grant writing and grant research.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Passionate about digital wellness, kindness, and the positive impact of technology.

- Improve time management and organizational skills to handle multiple grant applications and adhere to deadlines.
- Develop written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey the organization’s mission and funding needs.

Evaluation:
- Quality and quantity of identified grant opportunities relevant to the organization’s focus areas.
- Depth of understanding and ability to articulate the organization’s programs and initiatives in grant proposals.
- Effectiveness in prospect research, demonstrated by the identification of viable new funding sources.
- Competency in writing grant proposals, including clarity, persuasiveness, and adherence to grant requirements.
- Accuracy and organization of data and information compiled for grant applications, and maintenance of comprehensive records of grant activities.
- Contribution to relationship-building efforts with donors and funding agencies, as evidenced by communication logs or feedback.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively, demonstrating improved time management and organizational skills.
- Quality of written and verbal communications within the team and in external documents, reflecting the intern’s understanding and ability to convey key messages.
