>> My name is Ann Shaytal [assumed spelling] and I am an accounting clerk for student accounts for University of Maryland Eastern Shore. An accounting clerk in student accounts we pretty much help the students learn how to navigate and we, you know, we advise them, we guide them, educate them to deal with their financial systems, which we call People Solve Here at UMES. So we help them just to make sure we deal with them with their tuition, their fees, their payments, and we and we also deal with like department scholarships, processing any funds of fees that come in for different departments for the university. So when a student comes to me, they pretty much come and ask, you know, "What is my bill for the semester?" Or "How much do I owe?" Or -- and I'll, you know, give them advice and read -- go through their account whatever semester we're in currently. Right now we're in Spring semester. So we'll pull up their account, go over all their fees because sometimes students will get charged for different things on campus. They don't know how to read the account, so if you get charged for a room deposit or -- a room deposit or a failed room inspection, it's my job to teach them to read through that account, understand why they were charged for certain situations, lead them to different departments they may have been charged for, and you know, I'm there to answer all those questions. We're pretty much busy at the beginning of the semester. It kind of slows down in the middle once classes get started after add and drop period, and then towards the end when commencement, and as the semester is coming to, you know, about to conclude. Then we're kind of, you know, bombarded with students. So it's fairly busy, it's very consistent. I can't really say that I have a lot of slow days, because I'm always in our system looking at different accounts and just making sure the student understands their account.
