How did you choose your major, program, and/or minor (if applicable)?
I chose to study Information Technology because I enjoy learning new tools and solving difficult problems by turning complex issues into simple solutions. Through my coursework I gained experience with programming languages, Excel, SQL database servers, and core IT principles, which taught me how to apply technology in practical ways. What excites me most about IT is its adaptability, allowing me to continuously improve processes, support people, and deliver solutions that create real impact.
Please share 2 or 3 noteworthy internships, co-curricular activities, volunteer experiences, jobs, programs, or other training acquired (if applicable) that contributed to your current success.
From Help Us Grow Reading Program, I extracted and analyzed data from AWS, Salesforce, and Excel using SQL and Python. I built KPI-driven Power BI dashboards that supported 50+ stakeholders, leading to a 10% funding increase and a 91% student achievement outcome. This experience showed me how analytics can directly support community impact.
Additionally, I integrated Salesforce data with SQL and created standardized SOPs in Word and Excel for 10 team members at Help Us Grow Reading Program. This project improved accuracy across 5,000+ accounts, streamlined reporting cycles by 20%, and raised over $200K+ in funding, sharpening my documentation and audit readiness skills.

Have you overcome academic, career preparation, or job search obstacles during your time at USF thus far? How?
I faced challenges during my job search for a data analyst position considering many companies are not hiring or there are many applicants for one seat. I began applying in May before officially graduating in August, but at first I struggled to land even a single interview. With the support of Selin, I improved my resume and practiced through mock interviews for clarity and intention, which helped me start gaining traction with companies. Even though I received multiple rejections, I continued networking with her peers and alumni. Through that persistence, I secured a position at Disney a week before my birthday, which was especially meaningful since it has always been my dream company.
Please share if groups, organizations, individuals, or other resources at USF have contributed to your success and how.
Several individuals at USF have contributed to my success. Tammy, the Student Support Services Coordinator, played a key role by connecting me with Selin, who later became an important mentor in my career preparation. Selin helped me strengthen my resume, practice through mock interviews, and expand my network with her peers and alumni. Their combined guidance gave me the confidence and resources I needed to secure opportunities, including my role at Disney.
What advice would you give to current USF students pursuing similar goals?
My advice to current USF students is to be flexible and open to learning as you pursue your goals. Every interview, rejection, and networking opportunity can teach you something valuable, so use those experiences to grow. Stay proactive in seeking out mentors, resources, and opportunities because the support system at USF can make a real difference in achieving your career goals.
Please share recent accomplishments and achievements: including projects, awards, and any relevant information.
Recently, I completed several major projects at USF, including developing a performance reporting dashboard in Power BI and AWS that improved audit readiness across 500+ accounts, and authoring CRM workflow documentation that standardized processes for 5,000+ accounts. I also co-authored an annual report that secured $200K+ in funding through data-driven insights. In addition, I overcame challenges in my job search and successfully secured a role with Disney, my dream company, which represents both a personal and professional milestone.
