Anthropology Graduate Student Organization

Mission

The purpose and goals of this organization is to:

• Represent USF anthropology graduate student interests pertaining to academic, social, and cultural issues. The Anthropology Department’s faculty and staff typically ask the AGSO to seek and communicate input from graduate students.
• Provide a forum for discussion of issues relevant to USF anthropology graduate students.
• Provide funding for non-presenters that wish to attend, and benefit from, major anthropology conferences (e.g., the American Anthropology Association’s Annual Meetings, the Society for Applied Anthropology’s Annual Meetings).
• Organize, promote, and conduct activities beneficial to graduate life.
• Disseminate information of interest to current and potential USF anthropology graduate students.
• Provide the support necessary to ensure that graduate students have access to much needed technologies and office supplies.
• Provide financial and organizational support for the Anthropology Department’s major events (e.g., Graduate Colloquiums, town hall meetings, lecture series).
This organization is affiliated with USF’s Graduate and Professional Student Council (GPSC).
