About this Job
The Front Desk Assistant serves as the first point of contact for the Student Success Center (SSC), located in Davis Hall 107, providing support to students, professional staff, and other visitors. This role focuses on delivering professional and friendly customer service, managing phone calls, scheduling testing appointments, connecting students with tutors, and referring guests to appropriate campus resources. The Front Desk Assistant also supports office operations through clerical tasks and works with SSC professional staff to ensure a welcoming and organized office environment. In addition to working in the main SSC office, Front Desk Assistants will also provide front desk support in our MathLab located in Lynn Pippenger Hall 217 (LPH 217).
Due to the nature of the role, the Front Desk Assistant will have access to sensitive student information and is expected to uphold confidentiality in compliance with FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act).
The office is currently open from 8 AM – 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Preferred starting date is February 13-19.
Position Responsibilities & Duties:
- Greet all visitors with warmth, attentiveness, and professionalism.
- Answer incoming phone calls, address inquiries, and direct to other campus resources, as needed.
- Assist students with signing in and out of Accudemia at the front desk kiosk and update Accudemia session logs to reflect the correct service information.
- Enter session log data in Accudemia for additional services, such as online tutoring and SSC workshops.
- Assist with occasional projects, such as decorating our bulletin board.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Availability to work up to 20 hours per week.
- Willingness to make a commitment throughout the entire academic year.
Required Qualifications:
Be enrolled as a degree-seeking full-time undergraduate student at USFSP
Continuing students must be in good academic standing with a GPA of 2.0 or higher
