Position Overview
The Office of University Communications and Marketing (UCM) at USF Sarasota-Manatee is seeking a motivated student assistant interested in hands-on experience in communications and marketing for up to 20 hours per week in-person on the Sarasota-Manatee campus.
This position is a great fit for (but not limited to) a student who may be living in the new residence hall on the Sarasota-Manatee campus and who is enthusiastic, proactive, reliable, and eager to learn. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a collaborative team environment, actively participating in conversations, sharing ideas, and contributing thoughtfully during group discussions, brainstorming sessions, and project planning.
The Communications and Marketing Assistant will work closely with all members of the Sarasota-Manatee UCM team, and other student assistants in UCM across the 3 campuses, to support marketing strategies, assist with promotional activities, create engaging content, and contribute to the daily operations of the unit.
As a member of UCM, this position will act as a representative and brand advocate for both the department and USF. Work and behavior should consistently reflect our values through professionalism, respect, and cooperation.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Write and edit content for social media, email, web, and other communication channels
- Assist with creative content development, including photography, videography, and graphic design
- Actively participate in team discussions, research, brainstorming sessions, and project planning
- Support the communications and marketing team with daily administrative tasks and workflow coordination
- Attend and assist in capturing content at on-campus events
