Congresswoman Balint believes that policymaking and governance is improved by the perspective of diverse identities and experiences and that we need more diverse representation at all levels of local, state, and federal government. She recognizes that political internships and the networking they provide can be a steppingstone to political leadership, and that these opportunities have historically been available primarily to those with existing connections, and/or the means to pursue an unpaid internship. In recognition of this, diverse applicants are encouraged to apply and all intern positions through the office are paid.
