SAR Campus Career Shadow Day DEADLINE 9/11/26

Career Shadowing provides a behind the scenes look, a “Day in the Life”, of a professional working in a career of interest. The focus of the experience is for you to learn more about a profession, an organization and assess realistic career options. This is  an opportunity to have frank discussions about the rewards/challenges of a career, learn about the skills and education required to succeed in the field, and gain an understanding of the professional’s career path.  The experience helps students make informed career decisions.  Students gain exposure to a company and develop connections, sometimes long lasting friendships with professionals in our community.  We do not guarantee employment or an internship, but many students have have landed jobs or internships by making a great impression. The President of the local Chambers of Commerce assist the University with finding matches with their Board or Business Members.  On 10/9/26 you will have the opportunity to shadow  business and community leaders in the Greater Sarasota Community  https://www.sarasotachamber.com/board-of-directors.html   Shadowing occurs on Friday from 8:45am to 1:00pm. *  9AM to 11:30AM –  Shadow with the career professional of interest *  12:00PM to 1:00PM – Join all participants, Dr. Kemker  and Heather Kasten for lunch and networking. What’s required?  Meet with Miss Ripo to discuss your career aspirations and to help us make a great match for you. We will email you the professionals contact information, company name and address prior to the program by Monday, 10/5/2026. Please be sure to confirm receipt of email and express enthusiasm and appreciation to the professional for participating. SEATING IS LIMITED – Students must be able to commit to the program. The CCPD will prepare you for the experience and to make a great impression while building connections and your reputation as well as the reputation of USF Sarasota-Manatee in the community.  This experience helps students make informed career decisions and connections in the field.
